:for those interested in image technology, this is eye candy..

..i guess the single guys over in bellevue really have been working on something in between buying new hondas, collared shirts, and drinking ginger beer.. oh, and playing dance dance revolution with their foreign roomates..

:it's no secret now.. stereogums epic assimilation of 'ok computer' screams the albums monumental influence on our age of music once again.. not that it took stereogum to point out this album means more than most.. but Doveman spoke for me when he said:

"Radiohead are, for me, as much a straight-up anxiety as they are an influence. Unimpeachably great, but loved more than listened to".. -Doveman

:i gave the rave some eartime and assessed/obsessed... tis good.. and each artist in the compilation seems like they spent the proper amount of time trying to reflect the incredibly difficult tensions radiohead so eloquently pronounces througout the record..

::CILCKEHERE for online player::

of course.. some are better than others.. my fav's are:

Mobius Band - "Subterranean Homesick Alien"
John Vanderslice - "Karma Police"

..and perhaps my least fav:
Cold War Kids - "Electioneering"

:at any rate.. a well executed compilation that was worth mentioning..

:in an effort to ease the pain of my own recent recording woes i found this website today..

http://bad-music.empty-handed.com

..needless to say it did the job. for some odd reason the author of the site really has it out for religious (particularly Christian) music. for those of us raised hearing this stuff from the pulpit and minivan cassette deck on the way to youth group it brings back an all too familiar sense that there is something horribly wrong with music typically heard in the church.

:heres an audio clip of 'the shorbes' not quite selling "Daddy Sang Bass" like Johnny & June did..

lol.

:the microphone is not meant for everyone.. hopefully thats not me. =)

:i would love to hear some more contemprary stuff as this site is pretty dated in content and updates. maybe i'll just drive to marysville =)

:if i try hard enough i can recall some of the ambient sounds my brain absorbed walking through epcot center on family vacations and such as a kid.. those sounds exaggerated by years of memories twist, and a little 'spaceship earth' atmosphere thrown into the mix.. and the product is an echo of ulrich schnauss's ethereal masterpieces... a vague description for a sound that is somewhat undescribable...

:this is his myspace.. which is currently his website..

:the newest is entitled 'goodbye'.. and 'stars' is a great introduction to the new sound..

:dont miss this show...

::i've gone soft..

I am perhaps the most weary critic of female vocals to date.. but alas i have become enamored by emily haines somewhat recent solo album.. I highly recommend "Knives Dont Have Your Back".. to anyone looking to enjoy a bit of beautiful sadness.

::if you have never been to walmart late enough for this to happen...

then you have no buisness listening to this song..
